Testrite was founded in 1919 by Herman Neuwirth. First located on East 11th Street in New York City, they began as an importer and manufacturer of optical and scientific instruments. World War II ended their ability to import, and they turned exclusively to manufacturing. In 1955, Testrite moved to it's present 90,000 square foot facility in Newark, New Jersey.
